HOFH Elite Care Center Spotlight: Delphi Health Group
By: HOFH
Delphi Health Group is a family of 13 top-rated facilities across the country that offer individualized treatment for all levels of addiction from detox to residential and beyond. Its client-first approach is geared toward treating the root of addiction and facilitating lasting sobriety starting with its family-like environment. The team at Delphi understands that there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all treatment program for lasting recovery, which is why it stands on three pillars: comfortable accommodations and amenities, professional and knowledgeable staff, and caring and highly trained addiction specialists. Each facility regardless of its location strives to provide this level of care and service to each and every individual in the program.
Renowned for the “Delphi Difference” the program’s approach to treatment is focused on addressing emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. To help facilitate this highly-personalized approach, there is a low client-to-staff ratio. Utilizing clinical therapies and medical assistance coupled with caring support, Delphi’s programs treat the whole person's mind, body, and soul for a comprehensive solution. Along with its detox and residential programs, they offer 12-step programs and alumni opportunities.
Northeastern Region
Delphi’s northeastern region is comprised of recovery facilities known as Serenity at Summit with locations in New England and New Jersey. With a client-first philosophy, fully-licensed staff, and convenient locations, Serenity at Summit can meet each individual wherever they are along their recovery journey. Services include detox such as Acute Treatment Services (ATS), residential treatment including client stabilization, outpatient programs, and family services. True to Delphi’s core values, Serenity at Summit’s team is deeply committed to taking really great care of the individuals in their programs.
“The people who work here have a true passion for this field,” says Bob Dawber M.Ed., Executive Director for Serenity New England. “Our goal is to ensure that each person who walks through our doors feels comfortable. Throughout treatment, we really focus on each individual and their particular needs. If someone is struggling, our team will gather to brainstorm how to help the person navigate to the solution.”
Serenity at Summit also prides itself on its amenities such as recreation rooms, a fitness center, and chef-prepared meals using fresh ingredients. In addition, the team is constantly adding innovative solutions to its programs and campuses.
“Right now we are working on adding an outdoor meditative space that incorporates a medicine wheel design,” says Jennifer Harrington, Clinical Director at Serenity at Summit. “There will be direction points, NSEW, that indicate different parts of life. Our residents can pause to meditate in any of these areas which also match up with the 12 steps. We are also working on a new VR program that will simulate real-life situations so that our residents can get practice in those situations. Using biofeedback, we will be able to track how clients are feeling at any given moment because part of addiction treatment is noticing how you’re feeling in specific situations.”
Southeast Region
Adding to the Delphi family are Arete Recovery and Vista Pines, both located in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Arete Recovery is a substance abuse detox and residential facility while Vista Pines is a residential mental health and substance abuse treatment center. A shining example of the Delphi model, these facilities offer programs that are designed to put the client first every step of the way to help them conquer the struggles they deal with on a daily basis in their journey to long-term recovery and healing. The staff at both Arete Recovery and Vista Pines are highly experienced and compassionate and take the time to understand each individual client’s unique circumstances and needs in an intimate and relaxing environment.
“We are incredibly proud of the team that we have,” says Griselda Perez, Regional Executive Director of Operations, Southeast. “Each individual is assigned a primary therapist and they are also assigned a client care coordinator who helps them through the initial assessment to serve all of their case management needs. In addition, we have a psychiatrist on site and we have staff available 24/7 including a nurse practitioner and clinical director who are on call after hours.”
Both Arete Recovery and Vista Pines also boast top-notch amenities. This includes freshly prepared meals and a Registered Dietician who caters to clients’ dietary needs whether they are vegan, on a restricted diet, or even if they require soft foods due to gastric bypass. In addition to an emphasis on nutrition, both facilities also offer extracurricular activities such as yoga, sound healing therapy, ping-pong, basketball, cornhole, etc. There are also optional after-hours meetings for those who wish to participate including AA, NA, SMART Recovery, Refuge Recovery, and faith-based groups.
“Whether someone is just beginning or reigniting their recovery journey, we want them to know that they are going to get really good care from a team that is very passionate at Arete Recovery and Vista Pines,” adds Perez.
Delphi’s Personal Approach to Athlete Mental Health
The Delphi programs are well-versed in serving professional athletes with the highest level of confidentiality. The staff understands that this privacy is of the utmost importance to a person’s recovery. Harrington, who was a Volleyball player for Suffolk University where she is now a member of the athletic department’s Hall of Fame, has a first-hand understanding of the athlete experience and struggles that they face.
“As a former athlete, I understand that when you retire, there’s a sense of loss. There is a struggle finding a renewed sense of self and your purpose,” says Harrington. “For athletes whose career ended at its peak due to injury or other unforeseen circumstances, there is a tremendous hole. It can be extremely difficult to shed the only thing that brought you success and confidence. At the same time, you don’t have the safe confinement of your sports life anymore.”
As a Hall of Fame Health (HOFH) Elite Care Center, the team at Delphi is looking forward to expanding its services and reach to help give athletes hope for the future.
“We want athletes, and anyone who comes into our program, to understand that there is more for them in life. Life may be different, but there is hope,” adds Perez.
“It is an honor to welcome Delphi Health Group to Hall of Fame Health,” says Ryan Cain, President of the behavioral health division for HOFH. “The team not only understands the athlete experience but also does an exemplary job of guiding individuals to heal and recover in ways that are deeply caring while providing an elite level of care.”
“We’re excited because finally, people are talking about the struggles that athletes face and doing something about it,” continues Harrington. “We are appreciative and excited to partner with an organization that’s part of this change. It’s a wonderful opportunity for athletes and families to talk about their struggles and get help.”
